SUFFERING of Sudan

Six months before Israel suffered the 7 October attack, Sudan was at war on 15 April 2023.

Worse, it was a civil war.

Of two generals vying for top position.

"The conflict involves the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), led by General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF), commanded by General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, commonly known as Hemedti, who also leads the broader Janjaweed coalition. Several smaller armed groups have also taken part."

This, after they had worked together, in toppling their former head of state.

The fighting has driven at least 14 million Sudanese to neighboring countries, one of which is in Chad.

It seems the main funder of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) is UAE, that rich, but tiny country, in the Middle East.

RSF is into pro-Arab nationalism and anti-Islamism.

Russia has provided tanks, artillery, and aircraft to the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF).

Ukraine was reported to have sent drones to help SAF, possibly in revenge for Russia's hand in RSF.

Russia, not surprisingly, seems to be working it both ways.

To further complicate matters, China is not to be outdone.

She supplies Sudan with China-made weapons.

The head of RSF is also known to be a friend of Kenya's president.

The U.S. has "determined" on 7 January 2025 that the RSF had committed "genocide".

But as with everything else, don't be surprised if most allies play both sides, or at least are in "observation mode".

RSF has forced the Sudanese to flee to Chad, and yet this paramilitary group has ties with Chad.

In war, you never know who to trust.

The civilian is always at risk.

Why is Sudan so desired?

First, her strategic location:

"Sudan is situated in North Africa, with an 853 km (530 mi) coastline bordering the Red Sea.[208] It has land borders with Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, South Sudan, the Central African Republic, Chad, and Libya. With an area of 1,886,068 km2 (728,215 sq mi), it is the third-largest country on the continent (after Algeria and Democratic Republic of the Congo) and the fifteenth-largest in the world."

Second, her resources:

Gold in northern Sudan.

Oil in southern Sudan.

"The independence of oil-rich South Sudan, however, placed most major oil fields out of the Sudanese government's direct control and oil production in Sudan fell from around 450,000 barrels per day (72,000 m3/d) to under 60,000 barrels per day (9,500 m3/d)." 

"To export oil, South Sudan relies on a pipeline to Port Sudan on Sudan's Red Sea coast, as South Sudan is a landlocked country, as well as the oil refining facilities in Sudan. In August 2012, Sudan and South Sudan agreed to a deal to transport South Sudanese oil through Sudanese pipelines to Port Sudan."[301]

"The People's Republic of China is one of Sudan's major trading partners, China owns a 40 percent share in the Greater Nile Petroleum Operating Company.[302] The country also sells Sudan small arms, which have been used in military operations such as the conflicts in Darfur and South Kordofan.

Port Sudan and the Red Sea are of great interest to foreign nations.

Apart from economic, and political interests, you can see how other countries amplify Sudan's civil unrest, to the great suffering of everyday Sudanese.

Many have lost their husbands, homes, and health.

The women, and elderly, have suffered terribly.

Children are starving.

Families are displaced.

What's to become of these poor families?

"According to the Global Hunger Index of 2013, Sudan has an GHI indicator value of 27.0 indicating that the nation has an 'Alarming Hunger Situation.' It is rated the fifth hungriest nation in the world."

Africa has become a hotbed of wars, and corrupt governments.

Children have either become boy soldiers, or victims of violence.

Many families, and communities have suffered, and perished -- caught in the crossfire.

Our heart bleeds for their needless death, and suffering.

The violence against these people can only have been crafted by Satan, feeding on the lust, and greed of Sudan's oppressors.

No thanks to other nations who feed upon her civil unrest.

We dearly pray for an end to all these suffering.

The murder, and madness, has to stop.

Only the LORD JESUS can help us all.

Let us all pray for peace in Sudan.

GOLDA on WAR and PEACE

25 Strength and honour are her clothing; 

and she shall rejoice in time to come.

26 She openeth her mouth with wisdom; 

and in her tongue is the law of kindness.

27 She looketh well to the ways of her household, 

and eateth not the bread of idleness.

She was born in Kiev, a Ukrainian Jew.

She lived in a kibbutz with her husband, and two kids.

She became labor minister, then foreign minister, and eventually prime minister.

Her name is "Golda".

Her married name is "Meyerson" but her predecessor in the foreign ministry, Moshe Sharett, urged her to have a Hebrew surname.

She chose "Meir", meaning "illuminate".

Thus, in 1956, she became known as Golda Meir.

FOURTH prime minister of Israel, from 1969 to 1974.

What is striking about this lady are her quotes.

Which happen to be very relevant for today's times.

Especially regarding Israel-Arab relations.

For me, these are her most haunting words:

"Peace will come 

when the Arabs will love their children 

more than they hate us."

Ponder upon these equally-relevant quotes:

"A leader who doesn’t hesitate before he sends his nation into battle is not fit to be a leader."

"A man who does not hate war is not fully human."

"Peace will come when an Arab leader is courageous enough to wish it."

"When peace comes we will perhaps in time be able to forgive the Arabs for killing our sons, but it will be harder for us to forgive them for having forced us to kill their sons."

"An Arab mother who loses a son in battle weeps as bitterly as any Israeli mother."

"Of course, we all must realize that the path to peace may be a little bit difficult, but not as difficult as the path to war."

"There is no Zionism except the rescue of Jews."

"I’m not cynical at all. I’ve lost my illusions, that’s all."

As to Israel’s military successes, she responded: "Our secret weapon: No alternative."

We also learned from Wikipedia that she:

"strongly identified with Judaism culturally, but was an atheist in religious belief"

Imagine if she was born again, and really believed in GOD, and in the Messiahship of the LORD JESUS.

How the HOLY SPIRIT would have guided her.

That would have been something to behold!

Although blamed for it, she was cleared of "direct responsibility" by the Agranat Commission, regarding the morning of the 1973 Yom-Kippur War:

"She decided wisely, with common sense and speedily, in favour of the full mobilization of the reserves, as recommended by the chief-of-staff, despite weighty political considerations, thereby performing a most important service for the defence of the state."

The first time I was alerted to her was when I saw the 2005 movie, "Munich", where she ordered Mossad to hunt down the terrorists.

It's confirmed here:

"In the wake of the Munich massacre at the 1972 Summer Olympics, Meir appealed to the world to "save our citizens and condemn the unspeakable criminal acts committed".[68] Outraged at the perceived lack of global action, she ordered the Mossad to hunt down and assassinate suspected leaders and operatives of Black September and the PFLP."

One thing for sure, this first and only female head of Israel, and in the Middle East, is no pushover.

She is strong, simple, caring, practical, and straightforward.

Anyone who survives leading the most-maligned nation on earth deserves our respect.

We did write it's the "TOUGHEST job EVER".
